This is one of the most active volcanoes in the Americas, actually, it is active 24 hours a day. If you have never seen an active volcano, this tour is definitely for you. The volcano soars 1635 meters high and is bordered by a dense rain forest and natural hot springs.
On the way you will enjoy gorgeous vies of the cloud forest, waterfalls, pastoral scenery and typical Costa Rican towns. The last big explosion was in July of 1968! On a clear night after 6pm you can observe red-hot molten lava and rock projectiles the size of small cars, ejecting from the top of the cone. If that doesn´t grab your attention, then perhaps the thunderous roars will.
At the base of the volcano you will find a number of natural hot springs, where you can enjoy one of the most relaxing experiences of your life. The volcano rests near the town of Fortuna where you will find several restaurants, boutique stores and souvenir shops.
